The attacks we have seen on a worker’s right to organize have been worsening every session. In 2022, I was honored to lobby against the passage of a bill that would’ve attacked public sector unions’ method of dues collection. It died in committees, but it passed seamlessly in 2023. I’ve seen for myself the way the South gets the short end of the stick when it comes to labor rights. With the rising costs of living in mind, I will work to invest more in workers. This is a doable task to address income inequality that the working class has assigned us.

As your representative, I will:

  • Encourage and call for unionization of workers in public and private sectors

  • Reverse effects of anti-union bill HB 1445 to restore union rights to public workers

  • Work with Workers Assemblies and unions to find solutions to income inequality
