When I moved to Florida 10 years ago, there was a moderate real estate presence and a rich agricultural landscape. Since then, developers have torn up local agriculture from most of the Riverview and Valrico areas and replaced it with real estate. Floridians are well aware of rising temperatures, precipitation, and intense storms in areas where this was never an issue. There are things we can do on a state-level to address this crisis.

As your representative, I will:

  • Raise environmental standards on power companies to bring cleaner air and water to Florida

  • Emphasize sustainability of agriculture

  • Find common-ground ways to fund a switch to solar energy on more county and state property

  • Take on industries to reduce prices of energy by increasing tax credits for solar energy users
